It's been over two months since I've updated our activities. After leaving the Habitat for Humanity project in Charleston, Debbie and I traveled to Hawthorne, Fl to work a Sower project CEF (Child Evangelism Fellowship). This is a children's day camp located near Gainesville. As this is a summer camp there were no kids there, except for the camp director's nine children! The Sower men did a lot of maintenance work for the camp. The ladies organized a filing system for the CEF instructional materials and prepared Christmas goodies for the after school evangelism classes which are conducted in a number of local schools by the CEF staff and volunteers.
We were invited up to the camp director's home which is on the camp property for a Christmas party. Their kids are very well behaved and lovely children.
CHRISTMAS '08
We traveled to SC to spend Christmas with Kim, Mitch, Jordan, Mark & Amber. Prior to going to SC we met our Massena friends, the Darlings, at Orlando for a few days of fun. It was really great to spend the time with our kids. God blessed us with a wonderful family and we have lots of fun when we are together.

January '09
The month of January was spent in the Florida Keys at Islamorada. The Sower project there is Island Community Church and School. Debbie did a lot of cleaning as well as helping out in the school library and painting. Mal worked on a variety of maintenance jobs and electrical work related to the new school gymnasium. A new electrical feed was installed to the campground area.
We got to do a lot of playing in this "tropical paradise. In addition to watching the beautiful sunrise over the Atlantic and the sunset over the Gulf, we were able to bike, kayak, fish and play tennis. It was nice to enjoy the warm weather while the rest of the country was enduring a rough winter.

We are now headed to Minneola, FL to work at AIM (Africa Inland Mission). This is our first time to work at this project which is a retirement community for missionaries who have served in Africa. It's going to be COLDER here in central Florida but still better than up north!
